Zauberflöte – The Musical
A Reinterpretation of the Timeless Classic
World Premiere: 2024 at the Deutsches Theater Munich
Synopsis
A broken alliance between the powerful Queen of the Night and the ambitious Sarastro plunges the land into chaos. Sarastro steals the sevenfold Sun Circle, bearer of power, from the Queen and imprisons her daughter Pamina in his dungeon.
But Prince Tamino, supported by the outspoken bon vivant Papageno and his cockatoo, sets out to rescue the princess. He is not deterred by the jailer Monostatos nor by the most dangerous trials placed in his path by his adversary Sarastro.
Will Pamina and Tamino ultimately succeed in ending the hatred of the older generation and bringing about a reconciliation of day and night, light and darkness? Will Papageno be united with his dream woman Papagena? And what will become of the cockatoo?
