Frank Nimsgern deliberately detaches the material from its romantic-historical setting and interprets it in a timeless way. The legend is not presented as a folkloric fairy tale, but as a universal story about performance pressure, fear, and manipulation. The dark forces symbolically represent inner demons, societal expectations, and moral temptations. In this way, the centuries-old legend becomes emotionally accessible and thematically highly relevant for a modern audience.

Seele für Seele tells the story of a man who, under intense inner and external pressure, makes a fateful decision. At the center is Max, a young huntsman who believes that only with supernatural help can he meet the expectations placed upon him.

Driven by fear of failure, he enters into a dark pact that gradually pushes him to moral and emotional limits. The musical presents this narrative as a psychological drama about responsibility, temptation, and the consequences of human choices.

At the core are existential questions: How far is a person willing to go in order to gain recognition? What responsibility does he bear for his decisions? And what happens when fear becomes stronger than trust?

The musical explores these themes with considerable emotional depth and shows how quickly hope can turn into dependency and despair into guilt.
